About Jan
Jan Johnpier, has been designing websites for several years.  In 1997, Jan wanted to design a website for her organization, but did not know how.  So, she decided to take some classes on web design, at Niagara County Community College, in which she received an html certification.  Html, is the primary programming language used to develop websites.  After, Jan developed a love for website development, and decided to take her education further.  She attended the Computer Science program, at Penn Foster College, in Pennsylvania.  Jan graduated in 2005 from Penn Foster, on the Dean's list, with an Associate of Science Degree, in Computer Science. 

She is a member of the HTML Writers Guild, (http://www.hwg.org/), in which she takes classes periodically, to keep up with the dynamic field of web design.  Jan is also a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, in which she serves as New York State Chairman of the Volunteer Information Specialists Committee.  The focus of this committee, is computers and webdesign.  Jan has created many websites for DAR chapters, across New York State, and nation wide.  In July of 2008, Mrs. Johnpier received an Excellence as Webmaster award from the National Society.  In addition, she also was named Outstanding State VIS Chairman, for New York.  These two awards are only given to individuals who have shown outstanding efforts in web and computer design.  In addition to DAR, Jan is also a member of the United States Daughters of 1812, in which she serves the National Society and the State of New York Society, , in the same capacity.

Jan resides in Wilson, New York, with her husband, and daughter.
